Under The Milky Way – Luxury Glamping

Come and stay close to nature in one of our luxurious and romantic Bell Tents or Shepherd Hut, situated in a spectacular part of North Devon with it’s famous surf beaches, moors and stunning countryside.

We are a family run business just outside Combe Martin, a quirky fun seaside village on the amazing North Devon Heritage Coast. We are in a quiet rural location surrounded by fields and woods and most of the time the loudest sound is birdsong.

We have three lovely Bell Tents and one Shepherd Hut set well apart from another in 10 acres of gently sloping fields and steep wooded valleys.

Each tent is lavishly equipped with one double and two single beds, wood burning stove, rugs, candles, solar lights, table & chairs, camping gas cooker, cool box and all the bits and pieces you will need for your stay. All of our tents have a decked area for cooking and eating, 2 with a canvas awning and one tent has a fixed wooden shelter.

Inside the Shepherd Hut there is a wood burning stove, comfortable double bed & bunk beds with a third trundle bed for an additional small child. The gently curving ceiling and old oak beams add a warm and cosy feel while the fold down table & chairs, solar lights, candles, coat hooks, rugs and general storage space makes your stay very comfortable. The Hut sits alongside a roofed wooden decked area perfect for cooking and outdoor living.

There is no electricity, so you are camping complete with a campfire if you wish.

Each Tent/Shepherd Hut has its own private shower, loo and basin complete with underfloor heating and your own key to the door.

Things To Do

There plenty to do whilst you’re here and one of the most fun things is surfing. We are spoilt for choice with Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton Sands all close by. These are great sandy beaches with loads of space and during the summer months some of them have lifeguards for your peace of mind and safety. The gently shelving beaches are great for kids too as the shallows go out a long way.

Kayaking in Combe Martin Bay is great fun, fishing trips and boat rides to Lundy Island are a must from the harbour in Ilfracombe and there are some great coffee shops and a really interesting little aquarium to visit.

Mountain biking is popular here and the Tarka Trail is a great place for the whole family to hire bikes and go for a ride mostly avoiding any roads.

There are so many things to do we could go on forever so here is just a quick summary:
• Watermouth Castle
• The Wildlife & Dinosaur Park
• Broomhill Sculpture Gardens
• Exmoor
• Coasteering
• The Big Sheep
• Off road driving and quad bike adventures
• Horse riding and pony trekking
