Green Valley Yurts

Green Valley Yurts is nestled deep in the heart of the beautiful Cerne Valley in Dorset. Set on an Organic Farm, we offer a unique and special holiday experience for adults and children alike. Campers can relax and unwind in the luxury of one of our Mongolian Yurts. The Yurts are spacious and airy during the day and in the evening are heated by wood stoves for a cosy night under the stars. Our Yurts are electricity free and the solar lighting and candles help create a magical atmosphere. For those creature comforts, our facilities barn has all you need for cooking, playing and relaxing, as well as toilets and hot showers.

All the yurts are hand made in Mongolia and are fully insulated with a thick felt lining for extra cosiness. In the centre of each Yurt is a wood stove and the floor is covered with rush matting – so even on chilly nights, the space is warm and inviting. Each Yurt is individually furnished with an eclectic mix of rustic furniture. This includes a double bed, single futons, as well as piles of cosy cushions, blankets and throws.
Each Yurt sits on it’s own decking with an area for picnicking or relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying the views. Each Yurt has it’s own fire pit in front where you can enjoy a bbq in the evenings or stoke up the bonfire for marshmallow toasting.
At the heart of the campsite is our timber clad Facilities Barn. This is a communal area where our guests can cook, eat, play, read, shower and relax under cover.
The kitchen area is a cheerful, cosy area, well equipped with fridges, hobs, crockery and cooking utensils. There are large communal dining tables as well as picnic benches outside for you to enjoy your feasts.
We have individual showers as well as a larger family shower room and toilets. We help heat our hot water using a solar thermal panel on our roof.
We provide a selection of toys and games for children and adults. There is also a bookshelf of local interest and fiction for you to work your way through during your stay.
The on site health food shop and vegetarian cafe sells a selection of seasonal organic produce and speciality coffee, teas and delicious homemade food. We feel strongly about the importance of Sustainable Tourism and we are committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible.

Unfortunately as we are a family friendly campsite we cannot accommodate Hen or Stag parties – sorry!

The Area & Things To Do

The site is located in the heart of the Dorset Downs, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, a perfect spot for walking, cycling or paddling in our stream. We are a short drive from the sea, and there are plenty of beautiful villages and historic sites to explore in the area.
Take a look at our website for a list of the beautiful places to visit as well as children’s activities like Abbotsbury children’s farm or Monkey world.
