Classy Glamping nestled in peaceful orchards surrounded by the Cotswolds

Hosting a unique 1950s caravan with roof garden and a beautiful Belle Tent, The Glamping Orchard gets you back to nature but not back to basics. Combining peace and quiet of gorgeous orchards and beautiful countryside with close proximity to great pubs, market towns and Cotswolds villages, The Glamping Orchard is set on a family-run smallholding surrounded by farm animals, acres of space and located by the stunning River Severn.

Relax
When you stay you will have the opportunity to relax and recharge in complete comfort. You can collect fresh eggs for your breakfast, experience a memorable horse and cart ride to the local pub or simply go for a long walk foraging for berries down the country lanes. Then what better way to end the day than toasting marshmallows by the open fire and enjoying a glass of wine as you watch the sun gently set across the rolling hills of the Forest of Dean.

Sleep deeply, cook under the stars
You can expect a quiet getaway location with a real sense of home away from home staying in a 1950’s Caravan, The Warwick Knight, sleeping up to 4, or alternatively try Belle, our cosy Bell Tent sleeping up to 5. Whichever you choose you will enjoy a wonderful Glamping experience.

The Warwick Knight

When you walk up through the orchard and set eyes on the famous Warwick Knight, (as seen on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces) you will instantly be struck by his eye-catching spiral staircase, leading you up to the sunny iconic roof garden. The interior is full of surprises too, with the space optimised for cosy luxury, you’ll find everything you need for the modern day. A spacious kitchen with a gas cooker, hob and fridge is equipped with the essentials you’ll be looking for on arrival – tea, coffee, milk and more. If you prefer to dine outside, you’ll find a fire pit ready and waiting for some barbecue action under the stars.

Comfy nights are taken care of by a double bed dressed with luxury linens, plus two child-friendly bunk bed pods with climbing wall to entice any little adventurer to bed.

A log-burner in the seating area keeps things warm when you need it, and on sunny days you can open up the windows and let the light and fresh air flood in. Grab a book or tune in to the radio complete with USB port and Bluetooth… you really will feel right at home. A private WC is just next the caravan, and your own wood-fired shower and sink facilities lie within 25 metres.

Belle
Enjoy all of the fun that camping has to offer without any of the trouble and tussle of traditional camping. The Bell Tent, named Belle, offers complete comfort, allowing you to rest easy and be at one with nature. Sleeping five people, beneath its cotton canvas, Belle is a fantastic spot for friends and family looking to escape to the Cotswolds and is also perfect for couples looking for a romantic retreat. And at three metres in height, and five meters in diameter, it’s nice and spacious.

Inside the tent sits a double bed with a fantastic luxury mattress and some wonderful bed linen, offering you a cosy and comfy night’s sleep. There are also two single futon beds, and an extra bed or cot can be added if required. Keep warm as you sleep with the option of lovely hot water bottles and extra blankets. For added comfort your tent is also full of rugs and cushions and you can keep the cold at bay by firing up the wood burning stove, which will keep the tent nice and cosy in all seasons.

Guests at Belle have their own awning, under which sits a table and chairs making up the perfect spot for some al fresco dining. Cook up some lovely food in the fire pit, which doubles up as a BBQ and once you’ve eaten simply sit around the embers sharing stories as the sun sets. There’s also a private kitchen hut, which has plenty of amenities in place to allow you to cook up a storm. If you wish, you can opt to have breakfast provided for you. Guests have their own private bathroom that’s just a short walk from the tent and has a cracking wood-fired hot shower and sink. There’s also a separate compost toilet.

Things To Do

The orchard’s location is a fine base for exploring the area’s beautiful towns and villages. Nearby Berkeley, home of Berkeley Castle, and the Regency spa town of Cheltenham are among the local highlights. Upmarket and culturally vibrant, Cheltenham offers live entertainment and great shopping in elegant surroundings. Bohemian Stroud, historic Cirencester and Tetbury – close to the vast National Arboretum, Westonbirt – provide yet more reasons to venture out. The area is also awash with wonderful wildlife and spectacular natural scenery. You can head out for long walks, exploring the nearby orchards or simply taking in the peace and serenity of their surroundings. Venture further afield and visit The Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of Britain’s most picturesque holiday destinations. You’re also not far from the Wye Valley, another stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just waiting to be explored.
