Hot Tub Safari, Welsh Borderlands

Want a safari style holiday but don’t want the airport queues, the long haul flights and the jet lag! When you get there it’s all worthwhile but getting there and the threat of cancelled flights!
Pack up your troubles, a c’€™mon get happy€, sounds good but singing a song, dancing around the bedroom and throwing a few items in to an open suitcase isn’t quite so easy and getting away from those demons of responsibility is usually far, far away.
So we thought go right back to one of the holiday wonderments from childhood. Camping. This isn’t just any camping, this is camping with whistles and bells on, king size large beds, bath robes, huge bathrooms with free standing baths and a private terrace hot tub (actually, we made-up the whistles and bells bit). The canvas lodges, as inspired by our African trips, are a camping model firmly focused on luxury.
This is camping for adults who want to unfurl and unwind and be able to sleep like babes in arms. In a quiet corner of North Wales our canvas lodges offer more than the experience of sleeping somewhere unusual and almost under the stars. There is no cooking involved and any swimming is in a pool in the walled garden. Though these are safari tents where grown-up kids can spend a night, or two or three under canvas, the only lions and giraffes around will be part of the decor, however the surrounding parkland and hills are extensive enough to showcase the beauty of this part of Wales. While our safari lodges are let on a minimum two night stay but if you can only stay for one night try our luxury rooms with double spa baths, big enough for two in the main house. There is also use of a semi private hot tub on the pool terrace with these rooms. Please go to www.pentremawrcounteyhouse.co.uk for more information.

Activities:

Sphere Mania

We’ve just had Richard and Emma from Spheremania stay with us. Fantastic fun people who run the daft extreme activity sport of Sphere Riding. The concept is simple, two people wearing full body harnesses are attached inside the Sphere, then rolled down a hill at up to 30mph. Harness Sphereing is not for the faint-hearted and could not be described as a gentle ride! More importantly though it’ll be the most fun and biggest adrenaline rush you may ever experience. It’s not far from here. For more information go to their web site or better yet give Richard a ring 07966 535162, he’ll give you all the low down and sort out your booking for you. If your daft enough to go Glamping, you’re daft enough to do this.

Falconry Experiences

We’re delighted to be able to offer a superb falconry experience at Pentre Mawr. What could be better when walking the 200 acres of Pentre than to be accompanied by your very own hawk? During your experience you’ll be introduced to your hawk, learn how to handle her and then take her straight out flying. Whilst out for a stroll you’ll discover some of the art and history of falconry as your hawk follows along demonstrating her aerobatic skills. She won’t let you get lost, she’ll be checking in frequently by landing on your gloved hand. If walking isn’t your thing, you can stay put and enjoy the whole encounter while the hawk does all the hard work. No previous experience is needed, your hawk will bring along an assistant who will guide you through the encounter. This is a personal experience, just for you. Your booking won’t be shared with another group. Your hawk wants you to get the best from your encounter.
