Yurts

Kick back in one of cosy yurts nestled in woodlands, at the foot of the South Downs. There are two types of Yurt package.
Option 1: A romantic yurt for two, decorated with ceiling drapes, natural coir flooring, a proper double bed, mattress and luxury bedding, cosy blankets, cushions, sheepskin rug, antique wood burning stove (not standard during summer) and evening supply of wood, tea and coffee making kit and a table and two chairs. The yurt is lit with electric lighting, with colours you can adapt to your mood. Each yurt has a bench outside for al fresco cooking. Fire pits are dotted around the campsite.
Option 2: A simple yurt to sleep 4/6 people, decorated with ceiling drapes, natural coir flooring, double foam floor mattresses (bedding provided for additional £10/head), antique wood burning stove (not standard during summer) and evening supply of wood, tea and coffee making kit and electric lighting, with colours you can adapt to your mood.

Alternatively, for a more traditional camping experience, you can stay in one of the bell tents which are spacious and full of natural light. The sides can be rolled up in hot weather to allow a breeze to flow through the tent.

Bell Tents:

Option 3: A bell tent which sleeps 4/6 people, equipped with attached waterproof ground sheet and natural coir flooring, double foam floor mattresses (bedding provided for additional £10/head).

Option 4: A bell tent which sleeps 2/4 people, equipped with attached waterproof ground sheet and natural coir flooring, double foam floor mattresses (bedding provided for additional £10/head).

Creature Comforts: You can also hire additional equipment such as tea and coffee making kit, giant (indoor-outdoor) bean bags, travel cot, playstation and home cinema equipment etc.

Guest Information

Showers/ Toilets
Enjoy a hot, gas powered shower in the elegant woodland washtents. Flushing toilets are available in the woodland camping area.

Water
Water butts are available on request. Drinking water can be collected from a tap found along the fence at the top of the field.

Food
You are welcome to make hot drinks in your tents, but please refrain from cooking in the tents. We have provisioned a work bench outide each tent for preparing food, etc.

Catering
We have mobile catering facilities and offer a catering service for large groups, with menus tailored to your event.

Fires
The campsite has a central fire pit with seating all around. We do not permit fires on the bare ground. We offer fire trays for guests to use, instead. Firetrays must be placed at least 15 feet away from the tents to prevent risk of fire.

Barbeques
You are welcome to have barbeques so long as they do not burn the ground (i.e. like the dispoable barbeques. Barbeques must be placed at least 15 feet away from the tents. Please consider other guests when choosing where to place your barbeque.

Transport
We can assist with transport to and from the Goodwood Estate. Please speak to one of our team to arrange this.

Parking
You will be able to park your car off road at the campsite. Parking is situated 100 yards from the tents. We provide off-road trolleys for transporting your luggage to your tent.

Security
Our campsite is away from main roads, out of sight of passers-by. One of our team is always on site. We provide padlocks to lock your tents while you are out. The entrance is locked at night so if you plan on arriving after dark, please call ahead to arrange access.

Dogs
We welcome dogs, but ask that they be kept under control within the camping area. Dogs must be on a lead anywhere else on the farm to protect livestock. For the sake of small children, please ensure that your dog does not foul in the camping area. If this happens you will be asked to clear up and dispose of mess.

Area description

Densworth Farm is in the village of East Ashling, situated around 10 minutes from the historic City of Chichester and just a short distance from the sea. The nearest beach at West Witterings boasts beautiful sands. The farm is within five miles of the Goodwood Estate, which holds regular horse and motor racing events, including the famous Festival of Speed and Goodwood Vintage Revival. The village pub serves great food and drink, with a sunny, spacious beer garden and good parking.

You can walk from your yurt to the Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve through ancient woodland to Iron Age burial mounds and stunning panoramic views stretching from Brighton in the East to Southampton in the West. The Reserve contains one of the finest yew forests in western Europe, and includes trees which, at around 2000 years old, represent some of the oldest living things in Britain.
You can visit the nearby Roman villa or walk around our beautiful Stanstead Park. If you prefer to stay at the campsite we can arrange foraging days so you can seek out nature’s bounty, all around you…
